Sri Aurobindo Hospital, Indore, took another important step towards strengthening its Dialysis Department with the introduction of advanced Fresenius 4008S and 5008S dialysis technology. The upgrade enhanced the department’s capabilities in terms of treatment quality, safety, efficiency, and available care options for patients requiring renal-care services.
India continued to face a significant and growing need for dialysis and renal-care services. Government data estimated that approximately 2.2 lakh new End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients were added every year, creating an additional requirement of nearly 3.4 crore dialysis sessions annually. The scale of this requirement highlighted the importance of continuously strengthening dialysis infrastructure, technology, trained manpower, safety systems, and affordability.
The growing reach of the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) further reflected the increasing demand for accessible renal-care services. As of June 2026, the programme had expanded across 36 States/UTs and 751 districts, with 1,856 haemodialysis centres and 13,535 machines reported nationwide.
Against this backdrop, the introduction of Fresenius 4008S and 5008S technology at Sri Aurobindo Hospital represented a significant step towards strengthening its dialysis-care infrastructure. The upgrade supported the hospital’s efforts to provide reliable treatment, advanced technology, and patient-centric care while enhancing the overall standards of renal-care services.
