Marking Public Health Dentistry Day the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Sri Aurobindo College of Dentistry and Hospital, Indore, organized a Free Dental Checkup and Oral Health Awareness Camp at Mazdoor Chowk, near Government ESIC Hospital, on June 19, 2026.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sandesh N., Head of the Department, with the objective of providing accessible oral healthcare services to daily wage workers while promoting awareness about preventive dental care and healthy oral hygiene practices.
During the camp, workers received comprehensive free dental examinations, oral health screenings, and expert consultations for common dental conditions, including tooth decay, gum diseases, and oral lesions. The dental team also educated participants about the harmful effects of tobacco gutkha bidi and other addictive substances, encouraging them to adopt a tobacco-free lifestyle and maintain good oral hygiene.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Ratan Prakash Dheer Medical Superintendent Government ESIC Hospital and Dr. Alisa Singh who appreciated the institution's continued efforts to extend quality dental healthcare services to underserved communities through outreach initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Pawan Kumar Jai, Public Relations Officer highlighted the institution's commitment to community welfare by regularly organizing dental health camps, oral health awareness drives and preventive healthcare programs in schools rural areas labor colonies and other community settings.
The camp was successfully conducted with the dedicated support of Dr. Atham Jonwal Dr. Vikram Yadav and the team of dental interns.
The event concluded with an appeal to the community to undergo regular dental checkups maintain proper oral hygiene and stay away from tobacco and other harmful substances for a healthier smile and improved overall well-being.
