A big achievement for Aurobindo Hospital as Dr. Mahak Bhandari, Managing Director of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS), Indore, successfully performed the first tele-robotic surgeries from IRCAD India, Indore, to Jain Diwakar Aurobindo Hospital, Ratlam.
This success supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat, bringing advanced healthcare and technology to smaller cities. Dr. Mahak Bhandari performed three successful tele-robotic surgeries, including hernia and gallbladder operations. One of the patients was treated under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar campaign.
Using India-made SSI Mantra robotic system, Dr. Bhandari operated remotely from Indore with full safety and accuracy. This shows how tele-robotic surgery can make expert care available in cities like Ratlam without patients needing to travel to big hospitals.
Dr. Bhandari said, “Our aim is to bring advanced robotic surgery to every patient.”
Since starting robotic surgery in Ratlam in September 2025, he has completed over 350 successful robotic surgeries, making Aurobindo Hospital a center of excellence for robotic and tele-robotic surgery in Madhya Pradesh.
